COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Our committee is comprised of civil servants, small business owners, legal representatives, technical professionals, and nonprofit leaders. They have a desire to create space for young families and promote sustainable growth within the Town of North Greenbush.

JOHANNA FLANIGAN
District 1
Johanna Flanigan has been a Registered Nurse and resident of North Greenbush,
District 1, for 56 years. She and her late husband, Vince, has 4 daughters, 9
grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is a life member of the North Greenbush
Ambulance, Parish Nurse and Trustee at St. Jude the Apostle Church and a lifetime
enrolled Democrat. Jo has worked at the polls for over 2 years.

EDWARD MARTIN, TREASURER
District 1
Ed Martin is a 69 year resident of North Greenbush-residing for 41 years on Bentley Avenue and the past 28 years on Douglas Street. Ed is married to his wife Karen; and together they have raised three children -- Jason, Nathan, and Nicole. Ed’s professional career was anchored to The Arc of Rensselaer County, here he worked for 41 years –retiring as a Associate Executive Director in 2018. Ed received his Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Plattsburgh, and his Master’s Degree from Antioch New England. Ed’s lifelong involvement in our community includes being a CCD instructor at St. Jude’s, a coach with Twin Town Little League, a member of the Brunswick Community Library’s Board of Directors, a member of the Gardner Dickenson School budget committee, and a member of the town’s environmental advisory committee. In his youth Ed was a member of Wynantskill’s Killmen Drum Corp, and later a member of The Albany Police Pipes and Drums.

JUSTAN FOSTER
District 2
Justan Foster is a native of upstate New York and currently serves as a Data Analyst for the State of New York, and Music Director for a local Dutch Reformed Church. Justan graduated from the University at Albany with a degree in English and is currently pursuing a graduate degree from Albany Law School with studies in Cybersecurity, Data Privacy, Financial Compliance, and Risk Management.

SALLY LAULETTA
District 3
Sally Lauletta and her husband Ben have lived in North Greenbush since 1993. They have raised their daughters, Sarah, Maria, and Michelle here in North Greenbush. All 3 attended Gardner-Dickinson School and Troy HS. All 3 of their daughters have chosen careers in health care. Sally and Ben are the proud grandparents of two grandchildren – Rita and Tommy.
Sally completed her undergraduate degree at the College of St. Rose. She received her Masters in Education, School Counseling from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and an Advanced Certificate in Guidance Counseling at Sage Graduate School. Sally was a Guidance Counselor and Transition Coordinator with Questar III BOCES. She retired in July 2021 after 21 years of service. Sally states that it “was an honor to work the students and faculty at Questar III”.
Sally served on the Wynantskill Board of Education from 2002 to 2008. She also served as a union representative for RCG BOCES Teachers Association.
Sally became a member of the North Greenbush Democratic Committee in 2022 and represents voters in District 2.
Sally is involved in various volunteer activities. She volunteers with the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Albany. She also serves on the St. Michael the Archangel parish’s Social Justice Committee. Sally is the co-chair of the Rensselaer County Women for Change as well as the Watervliet Huddle. Sally dedicates her time and energy to social justice, environmental protection, and fair government for all.

Sophie Meyer
District 3
Sophie Meyer is a 22 year old North Greenbush resident with degrees in Political Science and English from University at Buffalo. She is a J.D. candidate at Albany Law School and a passionate Democrat. Her previous political experience includes an internship with the Erie County Democratic Committee and a campaign finance internship with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand

JOSHUA SABO, CHAIR
District 4
Josh Sabo was first elected North Greenbush Democratic Chair in 2020. Josh is also on the Executive Committee of the Rensselaer County Democratic Committee and serves as First Vice-Chair of the County Democrats. He previously served as North Greenbush Town Justice and as the Town Attorney and has been an active member of the Committee (when not serving as Judge) since moving back to North Greenbush as an adult in 2003. Josh previously served as Town Chair of the Schodack Democratic Party and has volunteered for countless campaigns in North Greenbush and Rensselaer County. Josh attended Bell Top elementary school, as did his three children Adam, Maria and Nadia, and graduated from Columbia High School. He is currently a Partner with the Couch White law firm specializing in the development of renewable energy projects. Josh is married to former North Greenbush Town Board member and Committeewoman Mary Frances Sabo.

Darren Hallman
District 4
Darren Hallman has been a resident of the North Greenbush community for about 4 years. He was an engineer for 25 years at the General Electric Research facility in Niskayuna, most recently serving as Technical Director for Mechanics and Design leading a global team of over 100 engineers and Chief Operating Officer overseeing and transforming the financial and technical operating model for a 1200 person, $350M global research team. At GE, Darren made many significant technical and leadership contributions to GE’s Aviation, Power, Healthcare, Oil and Gas and Appliance businesses resulting in 30+ patents and a technology leadership role for many of GE’s products. Further, as an organizational leader, Darren successfully developed talent across different levels and organizations within the company. Darren is married, has three stepchildren and resides on Snyder’s Lake. Darren enjoys participating in Earth Day lake cleanups and sponsored a Fresh Air Child with his wife and children.

BRITTNEY YATRAKIS
District 5
Britney Yatrakis has lived in North Greenbush for 7 years. She is an Assistant Vice President of Underwriting for a municipal insurance company. Britney holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the College of the Holy Cross and a Masters in Museum Studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program. In her spare time, she enjoys taking advantage of all North Greenbush has to offer with her husband, infant son, and three rescue dogs.
MARK STREB
District 5

Brian Zweig
District 6
Brian Zweig works as a consultant helping small businesses. He has served on the boards of many local organizations and not-for-profits and is currently on the Board of Trustees at Hudson Valley Community College and is Vice President of the Defreestville Area Neighborhoods Association (DANA). He previously served one term on the Rensselaer County Legislature, where his accomplishments included developing a plan for creating recreational trails in the County. He has an MBA from Dartmouth and a BS in Economics from Cornell.

Michael Myer
District 7
Michael Myer has been a member of the committee since 2022 and resident of North Greenbush since 2019. Michael is passionate about making bureaucracy more efficient and urban/town planning issues. Michael serves on national committees and works with others to reach consensus decisions.

Justin Baker
District 7
Justin lives in district 7 with his wife, two daughters and three pets. Justin has an MFA in combined media from SUNY Albany. He teaches digital imaging and Web Art and Design at Hudson Valley Community College.

MARY FRANCES SABO
District 8
Mary Frances was elected to the North Greenbush town board in 2017, the only Democrat in 8 years to win election to the North Greenbush town board. During her first term, Mary Frances had many accomplishments on the town board including the following:
*Sponsoring a resolution that registered the town as a New York State Climate Smart Community;
*Earning grants to work with the Cornell Cooperative Extension to prepare a Climate Smart Resiliency Assessment and a Climate Smart Visioning statement;
*Establishing an Open Space Committee that has received funding to prepare a Natural Resources Inventory (NRI). A basic draft of the NRI was completed;
*Sponsoring and enacting a local law increasing greenspace in new developments in town;
*Sponsoring and enacting a local law that requires recycling of water in car washes;
*Voting for legislation allowing marijuana dispensaries;
*Advocating for hiring union workers on town projects;
*Working with the Police Chief on policing reforms.
Although Mary Frances lost her bid for re-election in 2021, she wished to continue her fight for a better North Greenbush and sought and won election again in 2023. Since re-joining the board, Mary Frances has advocated for residents seeking an expansion of the town water system, has probed the violation of a local law by a condo developer, and continues to investigate the construction expenses at the town beach which to date have topped $2 million.
Mary Frances has lived in North Greenbush for 20 years with her husband Josh and has raised her three young adult children here. She is an active community volunteer, having served as the president of Bell Top PTO and a girl scout leader. She served on the board of the Commission on Economic Opportunity in Troy and was a trustee of the North Greenbush public library. She currently serves as a member of the advisory committee to the Vision Zero task force.
Mary Frances is a graduate of Dartmouth College and The George Washington University Law School. She recently retired from the New York State Department of Transportation where she gained substantial expertise in transportation and land use matters.

Brian Bushner
District 8
Brian Bushner has been a resident of North Greenbush since 2023. He is a high school teacher at an area school, teaching 11th grade U.S. History and Government and AP Government and Politics. Prior to moving to North Greenbush, he lived in Hoosick Falls where he served two terms on the Village Board of Trustees as one of the key people helping the village navigate the PFOA water crisis the community faced. He has a degree in Electronic Media from Northern Arizona University, a Master’s in American History from American Military University, and a Master’s in Teaching from Clarkson University.
